About the Wellbeing Manager:
We are looking for an experienced, creative and professional Wellbeing Manager to join our wonderful Fairmile Grange Care Home in Christchurch.
You will be responsible for taking overall responsibility for the recreational, therapeutic and social aspects of a varied and appropriate programme of activities for our residents, ensuring that it is based around their needs, wishes and desires to enable them to live healthier, more independent and fulfilling lives.
You will be responsible for managing a small team of Wellbeing Assistants and will work with them to help our residents maintain active and independent lives through the creation and delivery of group and individualised activity plans based on their interests, abilities and life experience.
Key responsibilities of the Wellbeing Manager:
Working under the direction of the home manager and in partnership with the home's clinical lead, and the care team, to facilitate and support the completion of Biographies and promote their use by all colleagues to better understand our residents.
Liaise with residents, relatives, friends and other colleagues to gain a full knowledge of the resident's likes, dislikes, interests, abilities and difficulties.
Use your skills to encourage conversation and act as an educator within the home and the wider community to promote activity, wellbeing and a dignified lifestyle.
To help residents to keep mobile and to contribute to moving and handling using the correct techniques as well as following policies and procedures regarding falls management.
To provide a daily program which incorporates movement and exercise in groups and for individuals at particular risk of falls.
Communicate events and opportunities through regular newsletters and other methods throughout the home.
Work closely with the home manager and care teams to ensure key colleagues are fully informed of the Wellbeing team's activity schedules for residents.
To liaise with the senior person in charge of the home on a daily basis. Attend daily 10@10 meetings with other Heads of Departments.
Explore the most appropriate methods and resources for meeting activity needs including group events, individual sessions, involving internal, external and community-based resources.
Develop links with local and national organisations to enhance the wellbeing offer at Fairmile Grange.
Maintain and develop existing programs such as our memory clinic, relative groups, Church services etc which promote involvement of the local community.

Skills and experience you need as a Wellbeing Manager:
Experience of working with vulnerable adults
Experience of working in a position of responsibility requiring the use of own initiative
Customer service experience
Ability to actively communicate
Experience of organising an activities programme
The ability to compile activity care plans for residents
Ability to communicate on the telephone
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written skills
Able to return information and carry out instructions accurately
Able to maintain confidentiality
Able to work with residents to ensure they have fulfilling lives
Able to prioritise workload
Able to use own initiative
IT literate and able to use social media
Able to assess risk and construct appropriate risk assessments
