We are looking for a dedicated and dynamic Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist to join our Urgent and Emergency Care Therapy Team for a 5-month position, working within our new Frailty Unit.
In this role, you'll work as part of our Frailty Intervention Team, where you will:
1. Assess, treat, and support frail patients, helping them achieve and maintain independence.
2. Contribute to preventing hospital admissions and supporting complex discharges.
3. Collaborate across multiple units, including the Emergency Department, Emergency Assessment Unit, and Short Stay Ward.
4. Provide supervision and mentorship to Band 5 OTs and Physios, support student education, and assist in managing the daily operations of the team.
5. Engage in service development projects aimed at improving patient care and team effectiveness.

Person Specification
Knowledge Requirements
1. Sound Clinical knowledge of medical conditions and applied occupational therapy techniques.
2. Ability to prioritise & work under pressure.
3. Ability to work as a team member as well as alone but with access to more senior colleagues.
4. Knowledge of NHS procedures, policies and guidelines.
5. Ability to formulate and develop specialised individual treatment programmes and ability in using clinical reasoning skills.
Qualifications
1. BSc (Hons) or Graduate Diploma in Occupational Therapy or equivalent.
2. Registration with HCPC.
3. Membership of the College of Occupational Therapists.
Further Training
1. Attendance at relevant clinical post graduate courses taught often at modular Masters level.
2. APPLE Accreditation training.
Experience
1. Completion of postgraduate junior rotation to include a rotation in medicine.
2. Broad understanding of occupational therapy process and frameworks.
3. Experience of audit and service review.
4. Experience of supervising other staff and/or students.
5. NHS experience including knowledge of policies and procedures.
6. Evidence of contribution to clinical education of less experienced staff, assistants and students.
Contractual Requirements
1. Flexible working, including 7 day working which will include late shifts.
2. Ability to drive.
