Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospital are currently seeking experienced Physiotherapists to provide a high-quality, responsive service for patients at Doncaster Royal Infirmary, working as part of the physiotherapy practitioner service.
Doncaster Royal Infirmary is a large acute hospital with over 500 beds, a 24-hour Emergency Department (ED), and trauma unit status. In addition to the full range of district general hospital care, DRI also provides some specialist services including vascular surgery. It has inpatient, day case, diagnostic, and outpatient facilities.

Main duties of the job
1. Undertake the advanced practice assessment and management of complex musculoskeletal disorders.
2. Teach/mentor physiotherapists and other colleagues.
3. Administer peripheral joint and soft tissue corticosteroid injections.
4. Order investigations such as bloods and X-rays.
Job responsibilities
Very experienced Band 8 undertaking advanced practice assessment and management of complex musculoskeletal disorders. Broad experience in teaching and mentoring physiotherapy and other colleagues.
Very experienced in discussing more complex cases with medical colleagues. Strong mentoring skills with other clinical staff. Strong evidence of service improvement and evaluation.
Diploma/Degree in Physiotherapy. Relevant MSc. State Registration HCPC.
Evidence of working at Masters Level (or equivalent) across all 4 pillars of advanced practice (clinical, leadership, education, and research/evaluation).
Qualified and competent to administer peripheral joint and soft tissue corticosteroid injections.
Non-Medical prescriber.
Experience/knowledge ordering of investigations, such as bloods and X-rays.
Portfolio evidence of reflective practice and relevant experience. In-depth knowledge of clinical guidelines, evidence base, and professional standards required in delivering musculoskeletal service.
Experience working with a variety of MSK disorders. Experience in assessing and managing patients with a variety of disorders, e.g., neurology. Experience of teaching to multidisciplinary teams including medical colleagues. Experience working in primary care settings. Membership CSP. Management/Leadership modules (level 7 or equivalent).
