EQUANS are recruiting for an Apprentice Joiner to be based in Rotherham, South Yorkshire. This is a 24-month Apprenticeship working 4 days per week and 1 day at college. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.
General Overview
The Apprentice Joiner will work alongside experienced tradespeople to develop skills in joinery within the construction industry. This role is responsible for assisting with the installation, maintenance, and repair of wooden structures and fixtures, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship and adherence to industry standards. The apprentice will gain hands-on experience while working towards a formal joinery qualification.
Key Accountabilities
* Assist in measuring, cutting, and assembling timber structures, including doors, windows, and frameworks.
* Support experienced joiners in fitting and installing joinery components on construction sites.
* Learn to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
* Use hand and power tools safely and efficiently under supervision.
* Ensure work is completed to high-quality standards, following health & safety regulations.
* Maintain a clean and safe working environment on-site.
* Work towards completing the Joinery apprenticeship qualification.
* Develop an understanding of different types of wood and materials used in construction.

Who are we looking for?
* A minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths, Grade 4 (C) or above.
* Strong practical skills and attention to detail.
* Willingness to learn and develop technical joinery skills.
* Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
* Good understanding of health & safety regulations in construction.
* Previous experience in a construction or hands-on trade environment.
* An interest in carpentry and woodworking.
* Basic knowledge of joinery tools and materials.
* Ability to work independently with guidance from experienced joiners.
