Bank Sterile Service Technician - Kettering hub
Job Description
We are now inviting applications for the post of Bank Sterile Services Technician. This is a bank position, working on an ad-hoc basis and is based at Ramsay Sterile Services East Midlands in Kettering, Northamptonshire.
During April 2023 we opened a new Decontamination Hub in Kettering. We are currently looking for experienced TSSU Drivers to join our busy team and be part of this exciting new development. The new purpose-built state-of-the-art unit provides an efficient decontamination service to 9 Ramsay Hospital sites and will be operational 24/7 across 7 days a week. We are currently looking for a committed individual to join our Bank and work shifts across the week, day or night.
We are seeking a competent individual who is looking for flexible working and open to available shifts dependent on the need in the hub. Please be aware on a Bank contract we are unable to confirm contracted shift patterns; therefore, this is a great opportunity for current Bank workers or someone looking for additional hours in their current role. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic and motivated. You will have experience within the field of decontamination of re-usable medical devices for at least 2 years, or would have completed a recognised decontamination course (NVQ/TVQ/Technical Certificate). We are looking for people to develop their careers with us, so if you feel you need to move forward with a fresh start, come and meet the team for an informal visit.
The successful applicant must have:
* A minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Decontamination Technician within a health care setting
* Sound written and verbal communication skills
* Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required
* Good computer skills (MS Office package)
* Flexibility and adaptability
* Demonstrated customer service skills
* Willingness to work the occasional night shift once competence is achieved
Key responsibilities include:
* Performing the full decontamination cycle on re-usable medical devices (surgical instruments) to the highest of standards, in line with all Ramsay policies and procedures
* Participate fully in quality control processes ensuring procedures and documentation is completed accurately at all times
What is a Bank Contract:
A Bank contract at Ramsay Health Care UK is a flexible employment agreement where you are not committed to a set number of hours per week. Instead, you work on an ad-hoc basis, filling in shifts that we have available in our hospitals. A Bank contract is ideal for individuals seeking flexibility, as it allows you to choose shifts that fit your availability, leaving you with a greater work-life balance. Bank contracts are also a fantastic way to secure additional income alongside other contracted work. Our Bank staff play a crucial role in maintaining service levels during peak times or staff shortages, ensuring that patient care remains uninterrupted.
What we give back to you:
* Competitive hourly rates plus enhancements
* Free DBS
* Contributory pension scheme
* Excellent training and development opportunities
* Free parking and subsidised staff restaurant (subject to site facilities)
* Free uniform
* Access to Blue Light Card
