We currently have full time positions available in our services which provide care for adults with Autism, Learning Disabilities and physical disabilities. Ideally we are looking for someone who has experience in a similar role, however we do offer full training throughout. About Us Action for Care is a private company providing high quality accommodation and personalised care for individuals who have a learning disability with additional complex needs including, but not limited to, autism, ASD, challenging behaviour, epilepsy, communication difficulties and mental health support. Our residential care services are currently provided within the West and North Yorkshire regions and North East. Our service users live in spacious modern houses accommodating between 6 and 8 individuals with 24-hour support, allowing for each house to not only be a house, but a home. Requirements of Senior Support Worker Patience, caring, passionate and a dedication and commitment to caring for adults with a learning disability. Good communication skills that can be applied to the team. Friendly an approachable personality. Able to manage conflict and remain professional. Good time management. Basic computer skills and form filling skills. Confidence to take important phone calls and to speak with healthcare professionals. NVQ Level 3 (required for the role but can be studied whilst working) Responsibilities and Duties To provide a professional and residential care service to all Service Users and to promote the development of the individual's full potential. To ensure that high standards of professional care and practices for service users are established and maintained, including appropriate attention to their physical, cultural, social, educational, recreational and emotional needs. To ensure all support plans are up to date and accurate. Be part of important meetings in relation to service users care and well being. To ensure shifts run smoothly and service users are receiving the correct support in line with the support plans. To attend Senior support worker meetings. Liaise with management. Organise medications and prescriptions. Oversee cash handling and medication handling.
