With the acquisition of KJ Ryan Ltd, a company based in Coventry, focused on the development and manufacturing of high-end interior components for luxury cars, the new entity will become the European leader in the development and manufacturing of interiors for luxury and bespoke vehicles with a turnover of about 120M€, more than 600 employees, and 3 manufacturing plants in Italy and the UK. For further development, we are looking for an experienced professional.
Responsibilities:
The Lean Manufacturing Specialist will be part of the Operations Department at KJR Limited. The main objective of this position is to develop and manage a "lean" improvement plan. The role is part of the Operations team and will report directly to the Operations Manager.
Main Activities:
1. Identifying and managing the complete mapping of Value Stream processes;
2. Identifying areas of added value by creating standards that improve working conditions and performance;
3. Analyzing product and resource flows to reduce waste and inefficiencies, ensuring the system operates without interruptions, delays, or waiting times;
4. Supporting production and logistics planning to harmonize flows between departments and different areas by introducing simple, optimized pull/push systems;
5. In the pursuit of excellence, developing and supporting the plant’s Continuous Improvement plan using PDCA methodology, incorporating key best practices (Kaizen, 5S, etc.), and ensuring full employee involvement in the continuous improvement process;
6. Managing the KPI of Operations by detailing, for each department/area, the data needed to effectively monitor performance and supporting the development of specific cost reduction projects;
7. Implementing and supporting structured analysis in manufacturing processes to optimize both incremental and fixed costs, and proposing actions and investments aimed at eliminating activities that do not add value;
8. Implementing and supporting an Internal Auditing plan on Lean issues in collaboration with the Quality function.
Education & Experience:
1. At least 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the automotive industry;
2. Degree in Mechanical or Management Engineering is preferred;
3. Green Belt and/or Black Belt certifications are highly desirable;
4. Experience in the quality department is considered an advantage.
