Carry out planned and reactive work appropriate to core skills in addition to other duties (dependent on relevant training) in order to achieve flexibility and efficiency. Diagnose and repair faults on complex electrical and mechanical installations, plant, engineering systems and equipment in accordance with current regulations and guidance. Work on a wide range of hospital electrical systems including (but not limited to) electrical installations, emergency generators, control systems, electrical motors/drive systems, nurse call systems, domestic equipment, fire alarms, catering equipment, heating systems, lighting systems, ventilation plant, boiler plant, building energy management system and communication systems. Manufacture, assemble, erect and install new installation work unsupervised to a recognised standard within an acceptable timescale. Perform a wide range of work of other trades. Carry out repairs, maintain and efficiently run engineering plant and equipment. Use all relevant test equipment, tools and equipment. To interpret and work from complex engineering drawings and wiring diagrams, and specifications with appropriate methods and sequence of operation. To plan and manage the working day based on work orders issued by supervisor. To carry out work in accordance with health and safety requirements, Trust policies, procedures and regulations. To work flexibly and form part of an on-call rota.
