Reporting to the Head of Risk & Safety, our Senior Manager- UK Risk & Safety will lead and support senior management teams, overseeing the effective implementation of our Jet2Holidays Customer Safety Management System (SMS), encompassing holiday accommodation, land transport, excursions, incident management analysis and reporting. In the role you'll scope, develop and produce key reporting metrics for delivery of our Risk Management System. As our Senior Manager - UK Risk & Safety, you'll have access to a wide range of benefits including: Hybrid working (we're in the office 3 days per week) Manager bonus Colleague discounts on Jet2.com and Jet2holidays flights What you'll be doing: As a key member of the department Senior Leadership Team, with 6 direct Manager level reports, you'll lead, inspire and manage the Risk and Safety UK Operations, Technical and Systems functions, to ensure the effective delivery of our Customer Safety Management System (SMS) and associated policies and procedures. You'll also: Lead and implement an operating model based on a Centre of Excellence (CoE) approach to service delivery, improving efficiencies and maximising team output. Lead and direct the service development functions to identify and implement opportunities for business improvements, training, policy and process revision, and communications to facilitate the effective running of the department. Have direct responsibility for all aspects of implementation for business and departmental policies, HR, budget and general day to day management. Reporting: Support the preparation of the annual and Board reports for Jet2 plc as well as compiling and presenting regular dashboards to the Head of Department, Risk & Safety Steering Group, C-Level and Operations Heads. Task and manage the Data and Systems Information Manager to support their teams, ensuring they are providing the necessary operational support and Management Information (MI)/Business Information (BI) to the department, internal and external stakeholders. Stakeholder Management: Establish and build strong partnerships and collaborative relationships with Jet2holidays Senior Managers and teams, helping to enhance departmental success. Forge strong inter-departmental relationships with internal stakeholders, namely Product, Overseas Operations, Contracting and Legal teams; representing the Risk and Safety Department where required. Training and Management: Develop a Centre of Excellence model and manage the effective planning and scheduling of all inspections (verification measures) for holiday accommodation, land transport and excursions with the General Manager of Resort Operations and Projects. Be accountable for ensuring all incidents and significant injuries/illnesses are recorded and tracked, with all necessary actions undertaken by Risk and Safety Executives. Effectively manage holiday planning and sick leave for the department to ensure sufficient cover is provided at all times across all levels. What you'll have: We're looking for a Senior Leader who has experience in managing, motivating and developing a team. Having previously worked in either the Tour Operations or Hotel industry would be desirable though it is not essential. Key skills we're looking for: Demonstrable experience managing and leading projects; strategic planning and project/change management qualifications would be an advantage. A high level of interpersonal, negotiating and influencing skills, with the ability to communicate dynamically and effectively across all levels of the organisation. A successful track record of forging strong working partnerships with internal and external stakeholders in a challenging and fast-paced environment.
