Catering Manager - The Role:
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Café/Canteen Manager to join one of Manchester's biggest contractors in our catering facility, Domis Eat. The role will initially be a one-person role but will expand to employ a front-of-house person over time. Experience of lone working would be an advantage. As the Catering Manager, you will provide and maintain an efficient service under all areas of your control, following company values, policies, and procedures.
Working approximately 37.5 hours per week between 6am and 3pm, Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturday mornings and other events providing a breakfast and lunch service with occasional hospitality.
Catering Manager - Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage all day-to-day aspects of preparation and cooking of the freshly made food/sandwiches to Domis Eat standards.
2. Serve customers and use an EPOS till system.
3. Ensure that food is presented and served in a clean & hygienic environment at all times.
4. Drive sales and promote excellent service.
5. Undertake all aspects of cleaning equipment to the Domis Eat standard in line with the cleaning rota or as directed.
6. Implement and maintain statutory and company standards of hygiene, food safety, and health & safety.
7. Effectively manage and develop a team to ensure service excellence at all times.
8. Check in deliveries and temperatures on delivery, put away deliveries as directed.
9. Use stock rotation as appropriate in the storerooms.
10. Accountable for maintaining and controlling food stocks within budget.
11. Record food temperatures during service.
12. Record wastage.
13. Establish and maintain effective working relationships.
14. Work with the Operations Manager to deliver excellent customer service, food hygiene, and a general overall experience within Domis Eat.
Catering Manager - You:
1. Proven experience of successfully managing a team.
2. Previous experience within contract catering or a similar role.
3. Previous food handling and cooking experience is essential.
4. Ability to adhere to all health & safety practices.
5. High levels of personal hygiene and appearance.
6. Food hygiene certificate desirable.
7. Experience of working on your own.
8. Ability to use your own initiative and think on your feet.
9. A strong communicator who can easily interact with customers, team members, and senior management.
10. A team player with the ability to motivate, encourage, and inspire others.
11. Self-motivated and able to work on your own initiative.
12. Punctual and a good timekeeper.
13. Excellent timekeeping skills.
