Job overview
We require a time served Mechanical / Multi-skilled Craftsperson to work alternating day and night shifts 4 on 4 off & provide annual leave cover for colleagues when required. You will be fully conversant with all aspects of engineering services, steam and condense installations, H.V.A.C. plant, buildings maintenance and DHW services. A sound knowledge of steam raising equipment is essential.
Main duties of the job
* This post requires a person who can fit into a flexible, reactive and demanding department, carrying out a variety of duties of great importance to the Trust.
* You will be required to work alongside other disciplines in the Trust, and it is essential that you are courteous, well-mannered, and professional at all times, and have the ability to communicate well with others.
* Work as a team member with Estates managers to provide mechanical support.
* Liaise with wards and departments on service interruptions and shut downs.

Qualifications
* Engineering Related HNC/HND in Electrical or mechanical services, engineering or building skills or equivalent qualification and experience.
* Evidence of continuing professional development
* Apprenticeship in electrical, mechanical, plumbing or building trade.
Interview
* Good IT skills and working knowledge of MS Office suite of products – Word / Excel etc.
* Awareness of Health and Safety in a maintenance environment
* In depth knowledge of Statutory compliance
* Demonstrable management / supervision experience
* Demonstrable experience of maintenance planning and management
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skill at all levels
* Good management and leadership qualities with ability to lead teams
* Able to deal effectively with other professional staff
* Self-motivator Drive and persistence
* Ability to work in close cooperation with other disciplines
* Able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
* Use own initiative
* Previous Healthcare environment
* Competent with CAFM systems and management of Reactive and PPM work.
* Knowledge and experience of Handheld devices for use with CAFM system
* Sound knowledge of NHS technical documents, British standards, regulations, legislation, and codes of practice.
* Authorised Person or equivalent for engineering installations or systems
