ISQ Recruitment is working with a reputable food manufacturing business in Norfolk seeking a Technical Manager to join the team. This company serves both foodservice and industrial markets with their world-class, state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities.
Job Overview
Reporting to the Head of Technical and taking responsibility for the Technical team, you will drive and achieve the highest quality standards through effective management. With responsibility for the factory compliance to legal requirements, food safety, HACCP, and customer expectation, the Technical Manager will have a continuous improvement mindset and will work with the team to develop action plans to drive increased standards across the business.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
Ensure consistent audit readiness by embedding a quality culture in the Technical and Operations teams.
Working with the QA and Operations teams, lead customer complaint trending and analysis and proactively ensure trends are escalated and appropriate actions implemented.
Ensure effective systems for identifying and resolving / root cause analysis of non-conformances resulting from audits, quality failures etc.
Carry out routine factory standards audits and work with the Operations team to improve the “Ready for Audit” standards across the site.
Maintain the QMS systems across the sites.
Responsible for the preparation of daily Product Quality reports as required by the Senior Management Team.
Organising and conducting traceability and product recall / withdrawal testing.
Motivate and lead the Technical and Hygiene teams, continuing to develop their capabilities and monitor departmental KPI's, adjusting team activity to ensure targets are achieved.
Complete and update technical specifications as required.
Take responsibility for certification audits at multi-sites.
Plan and take ownership of customer audits and visits where required. Person Specifications
Experience in a Technical Manager / Quality Manager role within food manufacturing.
Experience of BRC or similar audits, as well as customer facing roles.
Internal Auditor trained.
HACCP experience / qualification.
Strong knowledge of principles of quality assurance and control.
Desire for continuous improvement.
Ability to build strong relationships with operational teams.
Must have a full UK driving license with access to own vehicle. (Please note this client does not offer VISA sponsorship, only candidates with full Right to Work in the UK and relevant experience will be considered)
