Personal Care Assistant for a young woman 35 hr/wk@ £16.88/hr in Haltwhistle - FTE - £32.9 - Haltwhistle - NE49
We are looking for a full-time support worker for a young lady in the Haltwhistle area with a diagnosis of Global Development Delay. She requires a team of care/support workers to enable her to maintain her independence and support to continue her hobbies and interests.
This lady lives in an independent living setting with support from family and a team of support workers. She also attends a day centre 4 days per week 9am-3.15 where she enjoys activities such as cooking, art, and music and also learning new skills. This means that you should be able to provide support outside of these times.
A big part of your role will be to support her to maintain independence. You will assist with going out into the community, going to the gym, swimming, cinema, out for lunch, and being around people in social settings. You will also support her to take part in new activities.
As this young lady cannot be left unsupervised, you must ensure she is always safe and in sight.
To be a good fit for this role you will need to be confident and patient, happy with doing repeated tasks, have experience of working with people with disabilities on a one-to-one basis, and be looking to commit to this role long term.
This is a busy, hands-on, and varied role, and you will learn most of the role on the job by working with us as a family and the other support workers.
