Support Worker – Semi-Independent Home (Young Adults 16-19)

Hours: Full-time and Part-time shifts (including days, nights, and weekends)
Social Care & Education are looking for experienced Support Workers to join our team in a semi-independent home for young adults aged 16 to 19. This role requires individuals who can provide person-centred support and confidently work independently to create a safe and nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide guidance and practical support in daily tasks, including personal care, meal preparation, budgeting, and household management.
Support young people in developing essential life skills and promote their independence.
Manage challenging behaviours using de-escalation techniques and trauma-informed approaches.
Work independently while following safeguarding protocols and ensuring the welfare of the young people.
Assist young people in attending appointments, education, and recreational activities.
Collaborate with social services, healthcare professionals, and families to deliver holistic support.
Maintain detailed records and contribute to care plans.
Requirements:
Level 3 NVQ in Health and Social Care (or equivalent qualification) – Essential.
Minimum of 2 years’ UK experience working with young adults, preferably those with complex needs and challenging behaviours – Essential.
Proven experience in lone working and managing responsibilities independently.
Strong communication, problem-solving, and de-escalation skills.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights and weekends.
Knowledge of safeguarding and trauma-informed care (training provided if needed).
