1:1 Learning Support Assistant – Immediate Start

Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to join a well-established independent school in the Bournemouth area. This is a full-time, fixed-term contract for two terms (until June 2025), with the potential for an extension.

The Role:
The Secondary School is looking to appoint a full-time 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to provide dedicated support to pupils in Years 7 & 8 with an EHCP. The primary needs include ASD, ADHD, along with associated speech and language difficulties and anxiety.
As part of this role, you will:
Assist in promoting the learning and personal development of named pupils, enabling them to make the most of the educational and social opportunities available to them.
Work closely with teachers and SEN staff to implement tailored learning strategies.
Support classroom activities, ensuring an inclusive and engaging learning experience.
Provide emotional and social support to help build the students’ confidence and independence.
Requirements:
Experience working with children, preferably in an educational or SEN setting.
A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
The ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
