The role of Generator Engineer: We are seeking a skilled Generator Engineer to join our dedicated Plant Operations Team. In this workshop-based role, you will be responsible for maintaining and servicing our fleet of generators, ensuring they operate efficiently and reliably. You’ll be part of a team that values technical expertise and a commitment to high-quality service, you’ll help deliver the power solutions our customers need. Your responsibilities will include: Diagnose malfunctions or performance issues using advanced diagnostic tools and techniques. Repair or replace faulty, worn, or damaged components to restore optimal functionality. Conduct thorough inspections to ensure generators operate within manufacturer specifications, addressing potential issues before they lead to failure. Perform regular preventative maintenance to minimise the risk of unexpected breakdowns. Provide prompt and effective turnaround for Off Hires, offering expert advice on best practices to reduce downtime. Guide customers on the proper operation and maintenance of generators to prevent future issues, optimise usage, and minimise downtime. Adhere to Health and Safety regulations, conducting safety checks and implementing safe working practices Escalate complex issues to the Plant Operations Manager Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and servicing activities. Uphold high company standards and promote exceptional customer service Are you the right person? We’d love to see the following skills, qualifications, and experience from our applicants: Demonstrated experience working with diesel generators or similar power equipment, preferably in the plant hire, construction, or industrial sectors. Solid understanding of generator operation, maintenance, and fault diagnosis. Ability to work independently and resolve issues promptly and effectively. Relevant qualifications in electrical or mechanical engineering, or equivalent experience. A CSCS Gold Card (preferred).
