Salary: £23,556 (Retail Band B)
Job Overview: We are looking to recruit a Community Shop Manager. If you have a passion for fashion and love working in your local community, this is the role for you!
As a Community Shop Manager (CSM) for St Giles Hospice, you will lead a team of paid staff and volunteers. You will be empowered to make decisions locally while working within a supportive framework. You will work within and for your local community, ensuring that engagement and support are understood and promoted.
You should have great commercial skills, an understanding of why customer service is key, and a desire to be part of a successful team. Ideally, you will have previous retail management experience, demonstrate strong leadership, and have the ability to work with and motivate any team.
Reporting to a Regional Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that your store runs efficiently and delivers a positive financial contribution to the Hospice.
The estate includes 22 shops and an e-commerce operation with a turnover of approximately £3 million, which supports the overall income generation strategy.
Qualifications:
Knowledge and Experience:
* Previous retail management or supervisory experience
* Understanding of health and safety regulations and ability to enforce policies
* Ability to plan and prioritize workloads and delegate accordingly
* Experience in Visual Merchandising
* Good written and outstanding communication skills
* Experience in sales management, profit and loss
* Ability to work on own initiative
* Local community knowledge
* Understanding of charity retailing
* Previous line management experience
* Experience in achieving goals and identifying opportunities
* Ability to implement and enforce policies
* Desire to work as part of a team to generate fresh and innovative community-based ideas
* Experience and/or understanding of Gift Aid processes and procedures
* Experience of working with volunteers
* Some experience of EPOS systems
