Key Responsibilities Operational Oversight Manage all depot activities in line with the fleet maintenance plan, supporting multiple fleets and customers. Ensure the availability of staff, tools, materials, and facilities to deliver efficient operations. Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, defect resolution, and vehicle compliance. Safety and Compliance Ensure all activities meet safety, quality, and environmental standards. Oversee contractors, ensuring safe practices and compliance with approved methods of work. Conduct accident investigations and implement corrective actions as required. Leadership and Team Development Motivate and lead the team to achieve business goals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Identify and develop individual strengths, providing coaching and feedback to drive performance. Address performance issues constructively and support career progression. Collaboration Build strong working relationships across departments, unions, suppliers, and industry partners. Represent the depot professionally in meetings and discussions to drive problem-solving and decision-making. Skills and Experience ONC/NVQ Level 4 or higher in a relevant field. A minimum of 5 years' experience managing train maintenance depots and fleets. Strong people management and leadership skills. Budget management experience. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. A proactive approach with a focus on continuous improvement. Adaptability to manage change effectively. A resilient and flexible approach to challenges. Additional Requirements Candidates must reside within a one-hour commute of Aylesbury.
