The Role:
We are seeking an experienced individual to join us in London as a Senior Lighting Designer. This is a key role for us that will work closely with various project teams to develop visionary lighting concepts, oversee the successful implementation of lighting designs across diverse projects, influence and shape trajectory of the lighting team and play key role in client interactions, translating their visions into tangible design strategies.
Responsibilities:
* Contribute significantly to the conceptualization and development of cutting-edge architectural lighting design strategies.
* Provide thought leadership to junior team members in the integration of lighting concepts with architectural vision and project objectives.
* Oversee the entire lifecycle of lighting design projects, from concept to completion, ensuring high-quality and timely delivery.
* Act as a key point of contact for clients, addressing their vision, feedback, and expectations.
* Mentor and guide junior team members, fostering their professional growth and development.
* Conduct and aid with regular training sessions to enhance the team's technical skills and design acumen
* Support in Leading and inspiring a team of lighting designers, fostering a positive, collaborative, and innovative design culture.
* Collaborate with other departments to define design strategies and ensure alignment
* Review and approve detailed lighting design documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
* Provide expertise in specifying appropriate lighting fixtures and technologies for various architectural applications.
* Collaborate with project managers to establish and manage project budgets.
* Participate in client presentations, conveying design concepts and justifications effectively.
Who we're seeking:
* Minimum 10 years of experience in architectural lighting design.
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architectural Lighting Design, Architecture, or a related field.
* Proven experience in a leadership role within architectural lighting design.
* In-depth knowledge and proficiency in industry-standard lighting design software and tools, such as AGi32, Dialux, AutoCAD, and other relevant programs.
* Strong understanding of lighting calculations, specifications, and the ability to integrate lighting systems seamlessly into architectural and engineering designs.
* A comprehensive portfolio showcasing a diverse range of successfully completed lighting design projects.
* Evidence of a deep understanding of architectural principles and the seamless integration of lighting concepts with overall architectural visions.
* Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
* Familiarity with relevant codes, standards, and industry best practices.
* Strong project management and organizational skills.
* Demonstrated ability to think creatively and strategically in the realm of architectural lighting.
