Purpose
Support the Model Oversight Director and Model Oversight Manager in managing model risk within the Group, with a focus on ensuring model governance across the Group remains aligned with the overarching Model Risk Policy, as well as maintenance and review of associated model governance policies and standards. Support of the IRB self-assessment process, which forms part of the Group's annual attestation to the PRA, including review of responses and action management. Related to this is the tracking of relevant regulation, with particular focus on IRB regulation that needs to be considered for the annual self-assessment. Management of the Group's technical model review forum, Model Review Group (MRG).
Duties and Responsibilities
* Management and planning of Model Review Group (MRG); including planning of agendas, production of papers and minutes, management of actions
* Support the IRB self-assessment process, including review of responses and actions management
* Maintenance and ongoing development of the IRB self-assessment tool
* Interpretation of regulation for the IRB self-assessment
* Maintenance of model risk management (MRM) policies and standards
* Enhancing MRM policies and standards in line with industry best practice and emerging regulation
* Support the IRB Programme, including drafting of relevant modules, PRA presentation packs and assistance with interview preparation
* Drafting of IRB Senior Management Awareness training modules, including liaising with key stakeholders
* Support the integration of the PRA SS1/23 MRM framework principles and stakeholder engagement around this
* Communication to and representation at appropriate internal governance bodies and the business in general
* Providing support to Internal Audit as required, including reconciliation of actions and liaising on relevant audit planning
* Advisory function on MRM to CRCU and wider business
* Providing support to Model Oversight Manager as required
About You
Skills
The individual must have:
* Good knowledge of IRB and MRM regulation
* An understanding of the credit risk customer journey
* Good verbal and written communication skills
* Good analytical and problem-solving skills
* Ability to work independently and, at the same time, support the wider team as required
* Strong Microsoft Excel skills and experience using Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications (VBA)
* Technical proficiency to create engaging content within Microsoft PowerPoint
Qualifications and experience
Experience working in UK banking, financial services or equivalent is required, preferably within an area such as model governance, controls, oversight, or comparable role. Degree level education (min 2:1), preferably in economics or business related. Experience in a mortgage environment (Buy-to-Let and Residential) would be desirable.
Working hours
37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5.00pm (one hour for lunch).
