Morton & Jones Utility Contractors are currently looking for experienced fence installers with groundworks experience to join our expanding team in the Wrexham, North Wales and Wirral working on Scottish Power Substation contracts.
The ideal candidate will have experience in various installation techniques and a strong understanding of construction practices. As a Fence Installer, you will be responsible for the installation of different types of fencing, ensuring that each project meets our high standards of quality and durability. Duties will include the installation of all types of fencing (palisade, mesh, sliding gates, double leaf gates, pedestrian gates, etc) as well as a vast number of Groundworks duties.
We are looking for experience of working on construction sites with an ability to adapt skills to the installation of high security fencing.
Previous Fencing & groundwork experience, as well as a current driving licence would be advantageous.
You will be required to have a CSCS Green Card or similar CSCS card. Support towards this may be given and training may be arranged by the company for any other specific skilled training which is required to perform your role on site.
Certificates to operate plant would be advantageous.
All staff in this role are required to be DBS checked.
Duties
* Install various types of fencing as described.
* Measure and mark locations for fence posts and panels accurately.
* Operate power tools and hand tools safely and efficiently.
* Fabricate custom fence components as required for specific projects.
* Perform masonry work for setting posts in concrete where necessary.
* Ensure all installations are plumb, level, and secure.
* Conduct repairs on existing fences as needed.
* Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time while maintaining high-quality standards.
Skills
* Proficiency in using power tools such as drills, saws, and augers.
* Basic masonry skills for concrete work related to fence installation.
* Strong skills with hand tools including hammers, levels, and measuring tapes.
* Experience in painting or finishing fences to enhance appearance and durability.
* Knowledge of carpentry principles as they relate to fence construction.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
