Theatre Sterile Services Manager | Theatre | Manchester | Full time | Permanent Spire Manchester is looking for a Sterile Services Manager to lead their warm and friendly team. **** Up to £1500 joining bonus available **** Spire Manchester Hospital is a £65m state-of-the-art healthcare facility with around 500 staff employed on site located in East Didsbury, Manchester. The Sterile Services department services 8 operating theatres with a wide variety of specialities including endoscopy. The department is open 7 days a week and currently employs 12 dedicated staff. We handle around 800 surgical cases per month. We are looking for an experienced decontamination technician with leadership experience. You would work closely with the Operating Theatre Manager ensuring a compliant, efficient and flexible service. The successful candidate should hold a recognised qualification in decontamination. They should be familiar with the SGS auditing process and ideally have experienced audits at a senior level. Membership of the Institute of Decontamination Sciences would be desirable but not essential. Salary is negotiable depending on experience. Duties and responsibilities To provide day to day operational management of the service delivery in conjunction with the Operating Theatre Manager. To provide reassurance to the Theatre Manager that all work within the department is carried out to Hospital Temporary Memorandum 01 and Spire Policy. To lead the annual SGS audit. To apply professional judgement and utilise specialist skills; detailed scientific knowledge when reviewing and interpreting scientific, technical data and production reports to ensure a safe service is provided To work independently in all areas of the department as necessary. Develop/review robust local policies to manage loan kit, fasttracks & repairs etc Liaise with on-site engineers and visiting contractors. Identify efficiency savings. Manage HR for the sterile services staff such as pay, absence management and performance. Who we're looking for Strong awareness of industry regulations & audit Recent experience in decontamination at a senior level. Able to work flexibly and "hands on" to ensure safe staffing as required. Recent people management experience.
