International Tax Manager (15 month Contract) Location: Yate, Bristol (2 days in office per week) 37.5 hours per week (Monday-Friday) Western Global are seeking an experienced International Tax Manager to join our team on a 15 month fixed term contract to cover maternity leave. On offer is a widely varied role with at least 50% of your time being in an advisory capacity. You will become the ‘go to’ person for all tax matters and will be responsible for taxes globally (UK, Poland, US and Canada) reporting directly into the CFO. You will also support the business with the implementation and management of strategic projects and initiatives. Main Assignments: Direct Taxes Compliance Ownership of the annual corporate tax compliance process, managing the relationship with our global corporate tax advisers, answering information requests, reviewing and approving both tax accounting provisions and final returns. Responsible for Patent box, RDEC calculations, working with our commercial and engineering teams. Review of Corporate Interest Restriction (CIR) and Thin capitalisation calculations. Advisory Preparing global tax payment forecasts. Provide global advice on all direct tax matters. Indirect Taxes Compliance Review quarterly UK VAT returns. Review monthly US Sales tax returns prepared using Avalara. Advisory Provide global advice on all indirect tax matters, including on matters related to cross border transactions, tax exemptions, tax authority enquires and CBAM. Payroll Taxes and Employee Mobility Advisory Provide global advice on all employment tax rated issues, including Benefit in Kind/Fringe Benefits and employee mobility. Other Lead the company relationship with tax authorities. Management of external adviser relationships. Ensure key processes are up to date, documented and fit for purpose. Ownership of Corporate Criminal Offences documentation and training. Track global tax legislation and environment for changes that are relevant to company Oversee the groups transfer pricing policy and documentation. What will you bring to the role: Essential Proven advisory and compliance experience across direct tax, indirect tax and international tax with a willingness and flexibility to broaden your role into other areas of tax if required, with the ability to know when to involve external advisors. Project Management: Ability to manage multiple priorities and complex tax issues in a fast-paced environment. Practical and commercial approach to problem solving with a desire to learn and research. Desirable It would be highly beneficial to have worked with an International and/or PE-backed business supporting them with tax advice across a range of matters. Experience in-house, but not essential. Confident on ERP systems (NetSuite) and data analysis. Qualifications/Experience: ACA/ACCA/CTA qualifications (essential) and a strong academic background (to degree standard). Minimum of 5 years PQE.
