Production Supervisor - 2nd Shift
Ripon, WI. Must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder.
Position Hours: 2:30 PM to 1 AM, Monday-Thursday with the potential for overtime on Fridays.
Responsibilities:
1. Creates an environment of continuous improvement.
2. Empowers and expects every team member to contribute to continuous improvement.
3. Demonstrates a core value of respectful treatment of all team members in every discussion, interaction, and decision.
4. Desires to eliminate waste and to develop team member skills to improve lean operations.
5. Ensures that employees are properly trained by their Team Leader or other designated trainer in the areas of safety, quality, equipment operation, and 5S.
6. Interfaces with technical staff to ensure proper support.
7. Establishes annual goals and objectives that support the attainment of operating metrics.
8. Works to continuously improve processes and reduce inventories and work in progress.
9. Serves as the first point of contact for employees regarding employee relations issues.
10. Interfaces with Union Stewards in contract and discipline issues.
11. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Knowledge/Experience:
1. Proven history of ability to lead with a servant leadership mindset.
2. A minimum of one to three years of experience in a medium/high volume, fast-paced manufacturing environment is preferred.
3. Experience with mechanical and hydraulic press operations, as well as a basic understanding of die set-up and maintenance would be beneficial.
4. Previous Assembly line supervision experience would be preferred.
Skills and Abilities:
1. Must be self-driven and ambitious with proven leadership capabilities, including providing coaching, mentoring, and supervision within a team environment.
2. Proficient with Microsoft Office (Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel).
3. Strong problem-solving skills, including encouraging others on your team to think proactively and create solutions.
4. Basic understanding of process control, production scheduling, Kaizen, Kanban, and Lean manufacturing is preferred.
Education:
1. Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Manufacturing Engineering, or Operations is preferred.
2. Previous professional, internship, or co-op experience will be taken into consideration as relevant experience.
Physical Requirements:
1. Position involves sitting for long periods, standing, manual dexterity, stooping, bending, and minimal lifting.
MUST HAVE:
