Functional Safety Manager Analog Devices is seeking a Functional Safety Manager to lead and oversee the functional safety activities across various semiconductor and automotive projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with ISO 26262 and other relevant safety standards, collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders, and providing technical leadership throughout the safety lifecycle. This is a critical role requiring a deep understanding of functional safety processes and the ability to guide engineering teams toward successful delivery of safety-compliant products. Job requirement: Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. 5 years of experience in functional safety within the semiconductor or automotive industry, with a strong focus on ISO 26262 or IEC61508 and safety-critical applications. Hands-on experience with creating safety documents such as Safety Cases, DFA, FMEDA, and FTA. Proven leadership in managing cross-functional teams and safety-critical projects. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a customer-oriented mindset and excellent documentation abilities. Strong understanding of the product development life cycle, particularly with systems, electrical, or software development. Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Self-motivated and creative problem-solver who can adapt to challenges. Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required (10%). ISO 26262 Certification is preferred. Experience with Ansys Medini Analyze is a plus. Familiarity with automotive quality standards such as IATF 16949, VDA 6.3, and related processes is a plus. Familiarity with ASPICE/CMMI and cybersecurity standards (ISO 21434) is a plus. Job responsibilities: Lead functional safety activities across semiconductor and automotive projects, ensuring adherence to ISO 26262 and related standards. Collaborate with engineering teams to define the system architecture and ensure compliance with functional safety requirements. Develop, maintain, and implement the functional safety plan, tailoring it to the specific needs of each project. Manage safety assessments, including FMEDA, FTA, DFA, and Safety Case documentation, ensuring all deliverables are completed in compliance with safety standards. Train and mentor engineering teams on safety standards, processes, and best practices. Serve as a liaison between internal teams, customers, and external safety certification bodies. Support continuous improvement efforts to refine safety processes and tools across the organization. Schedule and conduct confirmation reviews as defined within the safety plan, ensuring compliance with milestones and objectives. Manage third-party audits and assessments, coordinating with external evaluators and stakeholders. Evaluate customer safety systems and recommend appropriate safety architecture for projects. Act as the gatekeeper for each phase of the safety lifecycle, ensuring that all safety-related work products meet quality and compliance requirements. The ideal candidate is results-driven and self-motivated with experience in design architecture, a track record of execution excellence, and the ability to communicate and work effectively with business and technical teammates at all levels of the organization.
