Role responsibilities
To provide technical advice and strategic guidance on transport related matters including Business Case preparation and appraisal to our clients across a range of projects.
1. Lead the provision of transport policy advice and guidance by providing documentation, appraisals and preparing business cases to enable Transport for Wales (TfW) to provide Welsh Government and Local Authorities expert advice.
2. Oversee a range of projects concurrently by providing the technical expertise and leadership to the project team and the supply chain to meet client requirements.
3. Maintain consistency and demonstrate value for money by providing technical rigour and challenge to improve the standards of work undertaken internally and with the supply chain to ensuring high standards in transport planning.
4. Support the SDPM, programme and project managers by providing technical expertise to enable the scope, progress and review of a range of projects concurrently whilst meeting timescales and delivering projects to quality, budget and client requirements.
Who we’re looking for
5. A Masters degree in a relevant area such as Transport Planning, Urban Transport, Transport Planning and Engineering or evidence of equivalent experience working in a Transport Planning role.
6. Professionally Chartered or working toward Chartered Transport Planner (. TPP, ICE, IHT, CILT or similar).
7. Demonstrable experience in the development of business cases, especially to Outline Business Case.
8. Evidence of technical leadership in one or more areas of transport planning and/ or business case development. · Demonstrable experience of delivering a range of transport planning projects at differing stages of transport project lifecycle.
Welsh Language Skills
The ability to speak/write Welsh would make a great addition to your application, but it is not essential for this role.
