Job Advert Role Description
As a Registered Psychologist you will
1. Identify and deliver appropriate and relevant treatments and interventions within the given field of therapy, in order to promote and develop the mental, emotional, physical and social well-being of clients; liaising with family and carers.
2. Receive and respond promptly to referrals undertaking assessments to determine and plan an effective therapy programme for assigned patients using appropriate and relevant treatments, activities and interventions
3. Facilitates individual and group therapy sessions within the given field of therapy ensuring activities and interventions continue to meet the needs of the patient, and are consistent with the provisions detailed in the patients therapy plan
4. Manages an assigned caseload within agreed timescales ensuring regular interaction and communication with patients, professional colleagues and clinical staff
5. Maintains accurate and up-to-date records in the form of case notes, case files, clinical reports, computerised information systems and other associated documentation presenting and sharing relevant information and knowledge concerning assigned patients with professional and clinical colleagues at regular MDT meetings
6. Leads and co-ordinates professional and clinical colleagues, providing psychotherapeutic advice and guidance, and assists with the analysis of statistical data and information for research and audit purposes
The post holders responsibilities will include:
7. Working within the standards set out by CQC, QNIC and other regulators
8. Providing excellent standards of evidence based practice
9. Regularly reviewing and monitoring outcomes of assessments and the effects of treatment in line with goal based outcomes
10. Active participation in service developments including: the use of service user feedback / in-house training
11. Contributing to the development of care pathways and other treatment protocols
12. To provide specialist supervision, training and consultation to colleagues through formulation groups / reflective practice
