What we are looking for....
As someone who has built up experience working in residential child care, you will have the confidence to guide and direct the provision of care to the children and young people in the service. You will play a pivotal role, working in partnership with parents and families to meet the emotional and physical needs of children and young people with complex disabilities.
When on shift, you will play a lead role, mentoring and supporting staff and being a role model, delivering excellence in the services we provide. You will assist in assessing, planning, and delivering services, taking responsibility for ensuring that assessment and interventions are prepared, monitored, and evaluated.
Engaging positively with children, young people, and families, you will plan and implement appropriate support for the children and young people. Sensitive and accurate reporting is a key responsibility and so you will have good written communication skills and the ability to learn how to use effectively, Aberlour’s recording system: Dynamics.
This role offers the opportunity to consolidate and build on your experience combined with the ability to enhance your skills and knowledge through training, for example, in Dyadic Developmental Practice.
As part of the management team, you will play an active role in ensuring that shift duties are delegated and completed in accordance with service guidance.
Lead practitioners do 75% of their role on shift and 25% of their time working alongside the Assistant Service Manager for short breaks on operational tasks and standardising practice. Late shifts are 2pm to 10pm. Early shifts are 7.30am to 2.30pm. Overnight sleep ins are part of the role, alongside an awake member of night staff. Paperwork days will be 9 to 5 office hours.

This is an exciting opportunity for a permanent part-time Centre Coordinator position within our Argyll & Bute Services. The postholder will be based within the Helensburgh Brain Health & Dementia Resource Centre.
Who we are
Alzheimer Scotland is Scotland’s national dementia charity. Our aim is to make sure nobody faces dementia alone. We provide support and information to people with dementia, their carers and families, we campaign for the rights of people with dementia and fund vital dementia research.
What you’ll do
The Centre Coordinator will form part of the centre team, supporting the Centre Manager to provide Alzheimer Scotland’s programme of support for people concerned about their brain health or are affected by dementia.

The Centre Coordinator will support the Centre Manager to bring the ALOIS programme to life.
The Centre Coordinator will ensure that all our Centre visitors are met with warmth, in a welcoming, friendly environment, by staff and volunteers with the knowledge and skills to meet their needs. The support on offer will be available for individuals and their friends and family, ensuring that we take a whole family approach to care and support.
The Centre Coordinator will support the daily running of the Centre, being a local point of contact for Centre visitors and volunteers whilst carrying out the associated administrative tasks.
The Centre Coordinator will be a key support in the co-ordination of volunteers. This will include responsibility for following volunteer interview and recruitment processes, arranging volunteer inductions, ensuring relevant training and PVG/Disclosure documents are kept up to date, taking minutes at volunteer team meetings and organising the volunteer rota.
The Centre Coordinator will be supporting the co-ordination of a core programme, that will be led by the Centre Manager, of engaging opportunities, groups, and events designed to attract audiences who seek to learn more about brain health and dementia. The programme of groups and activities on offer in our Centres will vary from therapeutic, social and peer support to educational sessions delivered by external partners.
The successful candidate for this post will be required to provide proof of right to work in the UK and will also be subject to a PVG check through Disclosure Scotland.
Due to changes and development of Threads Service, we are looking for a driven and enthusiastic Team Manager to join the team to manage our Early Help Service. The post is a time limited fixed term contract for a period of 18 months to cover the current Team Manager's secondment period. The Team Manager will support the CSM to lead and manage day-to-day operational service delivery to improve outcomes for families in the Renfrewshire area.
The Early Help Service provides a wide range of support and evidence-based interventions to support children, young people, and families. In partnership with Renfrewshire Social Work, the service aims to provide an alternative to social work intervention for families who are experiencing difficulties which without support, might escalate to require statutory involvement.
The post holder will have extensive experience of working with vulnerable and marginalised children and families and have a minimum of two years of managing a team. A robust understanding, skills experience and a strong understanding of child protection measures, policy and an understanding of the barriers and issues that contribute to inequalities for children is required. The successful candidate must have at least 2 years experience of managing staff, volunteers, and multi-agency partnerships with social work, health, education and police.
