The Manufacturing Engineer will be the main point of contact for production troubleshooting. This role involves close collaboration with design teams and production to optimise product performance and manufacturability while maintaining high quality and efficiency throughout the factory.
You will play a key part in developing efficient manufacturing processes by implementing continuous improvement initiatives, and troubleshooting any production issues using lean and other manufacturing techniques that will achieve business objectives.
What's involved for the Manufacturing Engineer…
1. Interpret CAD or Solidwork drawings
2. Collaborate with design and development engineering to ensure designs are suitable for a lean manufacturing environment
3. Support validation and testing of new designs or design improvements, ensuring performance and reliability.
4. Lead continuous improvement efforts to enhance production efficiency and product quality
5. Improve production efficiencies and maintain the product flow throughout the organisation.
6. Analyse Build data - Review Shop floor build data. Identify problem areas and issues.
7. Investigate and make recommendations for improvement
8. Assist in the design of fixturing, tooling and handling equipment.
9. Keep up to date with current manufacturing processes and maintain a good working knowledge of all product lines
10. Deal with all non-conformances and ensure that all rejected purchase parts are correctly recorded
What you'll need…
1. Strong manufacturing experience working within a project engineer, production engineer, production manager or a manufacturing engineer role
2. Experience of implementing factory projects
3. Proficient with Lean Manufacturing techniques
4. Continuous improvement experience
5. Experience within equipment manufacturing preferred but not essential
6. CAD or SolidWorks experience a distinct advantage but not essential
