Exciting opportunity for a senior (minimum 6+ PQE) Construction Litigator to join this sizeable legal team to contribute advice on claims and disputes as a result of consultancy appointments. The role encompasses a broad spectrum of dispute resolution work to include advising on payment disputes, contractual claims & operational matters through to professional negligence claims.
Supporting the UK business units, you will:
1. Give legal and commercial advice on professional indemnity claims via dispute resolution processes (including mediation, adjudication, expert determinations, court proceedings & arbitration)
2. Advise on contract and construction law
3. Ensure corporate governance is maintained in relation to the settlement of disputes
4. Manage external lawyers re initial instructions, ongoing claims, costs & strategy
5. Liaise with insurance brokers
6. Keep the business updated on legal developments & deliver training as appropriate
You will have strong experience of advising on construction & engineering claims and disputes and/or professional negligence claims and disputes, within construction & engineering.
To be an excellent candidate for this role, you will have first-class communication skills, a commercial and pragmatic approach to giving legal advice to stakeholders and be adept at the resolution of disputes, a proactive approach and the ability to prioritise between competing business demands and be happy working within a highly collaborative environment.
