THE GIG
Working in a fast-paced team for the Senior Global Financial Accounting Manager, the Global Financial Accountant will manage the general ledger for all entities within the DM Group, including those in the EMEA, Americas, APAC Regions, and the Holding Companies. The team will have a specific focus on Gross Margin, Stock, and Opex (key metrics for the Group).
As our Group Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for:
* Owning and analysing global postings for Gross Margin, Stock, and Opex, resolving anomalies.
* Assessing aged inventory and calculate stock provisions to manage obsolescence risk.
* Monitoring inventory valuation, ensuring alignment with Group policy.
* Ensuring global consistency in journal postings and maintain the Chart of Accounts.
* Preparing global process notes and contribute to finance policy documentation.
* Providing monthly P&L analysis, variance explanations, and key financial reports.
* Maintaining ledgers in compliance with Group and statutory requirements.
* Supporting audit processes and ensure timely audit deliverables.
* Managing month-end tasks, reconciliations, and issue resolution.
* Driving process efficiencies, centralising accounting, and promoting best practices.
* Collaborating with global finance teams to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
* Identifying risks and opportunities, escalating to senior management as needed.
* Fostering a positive, solution-oriented team culture and support continuous improvements.
THE STUFF THAT SETS YOU APART
Put simply, for this role the key things we’re looking for are:
* Recognised accountancy qualification, with appropriate technical competencies.
* Familiarity with Group Accounting including overseas subsidiaries – multi-currency and multi-site.
* An understanding of IFRS accounting policies, using this knowledge to update and cascade relevant extracts of the accounting policy manual across the Group.
* Confidence in building credibility with stakeholders within and outside of the Finance function.
* Advanced Excel skills and ability to use PowerPoint and Word.
* Ability to work to agreed timetables and deadlines.
* Experience with D365 (Microsoft Dynamics) and OneStream desirable but not essential.
