GSL Education are excited to announce an opportunity for a passionate and dedicated SENCO to join a dynamic school in Sheffield. If you are enthusiastic about supporting students with special educational needs (SEN) and contributing to their educational success, this SENCO role is perfect for you!
About the Role:
As a SENCO, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with SEN, helping them overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential. You will work closely with a team of dedicated professionals to create and implement individualised education plans tailored to each student’s needs. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact in a supportive and inclusive educational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement SEN policies and procedures.
* Coordinate and oversee SEN provision within the school.
* Work collaboratively with teachers to develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students with SEN.
* Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of SEN provision and make recommendations for improvement.
* Provide training and support to staff on SEN best practices.
* Liaise with parents, external agencies and other stakeholders to ensure that students with SEN receive the support they need.
Requirements:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
* Experience working as a SENCO or in a similar role.
* Strong understanding of SEN best practices and strategies.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
To work with GSL Education as a SENCO, you will need:
* Have the right to work in the UK.
* Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
* Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
