The post holder will be responsible for greeting and welcoming customers, check-out till management, ensuring that merchandise shelves and sales area are well-organized and clean, and attending staff meetings and training as needed.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
* Process customer payments at the checkout point/till
* Provide shopping advice and recommendations to customers.
* Collaborate with other team members to keep the sales floor area clean and always organised.
* Notifying the manager of low or depleted supplies
* Maintain the highest level of visual merchandising and store conditions.
* Observe stock rotation (first in first out) by removing older stock and putting them in front of shelves.
* Return leftover stock/items to the warehouse at the appropriate storage area.
* Deliver exceptional sales services for improved customer satisfaction.
* Interact with customers and assist them with identifying their needs and preferences.
* Enforce in-store security and health and safety procedures and regulations.
* Ensure food shelves and stands are cleaned daily.
* Assist with packing or labelling of packaged items.
* Respond to customers' telephone queries and refer to the appropriate team for response.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
* College Diploma or GCSE
* Proven experience working in the food service industry.
* Knowledge of Afro-Caribbean food and products
* The ability to stand for extended periods.
* Excellent organizational and time management skills
* Exceptional customer service skills
* Ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
* Able to act with tact, diplomacy, confidentiality, and deal with sensitive issues.
