Job Role Summary
Based in the Nordics (ideally in Sweden), the Solution Engineer works directly with our European sales team to support new name and existing client sales engagements, from early-stage meetings through to handover to our implementations team.
The role will include the following activities:
* Providing day to day and strategic support to Sales on phases of the sales cycle including prospect research, preliminary call activities, Request for Information (RFI) and Request for Proposal (RFP), presentations, prospect visit management, and prospect meetings.
* Serving as a liaison to develop combined sales strategy with other departments and/or companies and other partners (vendors) involved in the sales process for individual prospects.
* Managing all sales documentation and deliverables, ensuring accuracy and availability.
* Providing updates/reports of prospects to Senior Management.
* Traveling to meet prospects and clients face to face.
* Fluency in one or more Nordic languages is desirable.
What part will you play?
* As the issuer processing Subject Matter Expert (SME), you’ll provide strategic support to Sales during various phases of the sales cycle.
* You’ll create, review, and/or lead the creation of proposal materials for existing and prospective clients.
* You’ll run value proposition sessions with internal teams to develop strong, quantifiable and winning themes to build our responses around.
* You’ll complete and review documentation in response to a Request for Information (RFI) and Request for Proposal (RFP).
* You’ll create and lead pitch presentations to prospective clients.
* You’ll complete solution design work, addressing client requirements and working with internal technical and commercial teams to formulate a winning proposal.
* You’ll deliver product demos against prospect requirements.
* You’ll facilitate the development of sales strategies with other inter-company departments and partners involved in the sales process.
* You’ll work in close liaison with Marketing and/or product owners to gather information and materials for sales offerings.
* You’ll identify coaching/mentoring opportunities and provide feedback to less experienced Solution Engineers.
* You’ll assist management with the coordination of strategic Sales Team activity.
* You’ll compile information and prepare reporting of strategic sales activities and key sales metrics for management.
* You’ll remain knowledgeable and up-to-date on the current product/service portfolio and changes/developments within the payments industry.
What are we looking for in this role?
* Extensive experience in the payments industry – 5 years plus ideally, with a significant portion of this in issuer processing.
* Fluency in one or more of the Nordic languages is highly desirable. Must have a good standard of English too.
* Good understanding of latest trends in IT – cloud computing, AI, APIs etc.
* Experience presenting to mid-level / senior audiences.
* Strong writing skills, able to clearly and concisely convey TSYS value propositions in proposals and presentations.
* Advanced ability to be an effective problem solver and act quickly to resolve issues.
* Effective listener and communicator who is able to be a reliable strategic partner to the sales team.
* Team player, helping out on opportunities across regions.
* Effective relationship building skills.
* Strong analytical skills, able to identify prospect needs and develop tailored value propositions.
* Technical experience is an advantage – knowledge of solution architecture, integration patterns and different SDLCs.
* Willingness to travel, to meet prospects and internal TSYS teams.
