Your new role
As a key member of the procurement team, you will play a pivotal role in advising and supporting senior management and officers on all procurement activities within the Directorates. You will also step in for the Head of Strategic Procurement when needed. Your primary mission is to cultivate and maintain strategic relationships with senior management teams across the organisation, ensuring the delivery of a top-tier procurement service to help meet the statutory responsibilities, delivering increased efficiency and effectiveness and minimising the risk of inappropriate procurement and contract negotiations.
You will work with members of the Strategic Procurement Team to provide support, advice and guidance across the organisation and work with members of project teams to ensure that procurement issues are appropriately considered and built in.
What you'll need to succeed
1. Must have extensive public sector experience.
2. Be able to demonstrate end to end procurements that you have independently undertaken, from cradle to grave.
3. Have working knowledge of PCR15 and an understanding of the new PA23 regulations coming into effect from October.
4. Must be able to commute to the South West office.
5. Ideally, you have experience with the NEC4 and JCT suite of contracts.
