Job Description:
We are recruiting a Senior Care Assistant for our Extra Care service in Fleet. You'll need at least 2 years of previous experience working as a Care Assistant, and experience within an extra care service is beneficial. You will have caring and supervisory responsibilities in this role.
Extra Care units offer residents their own self-contained living space within a larger building, with access to care staff based within the unit who provide care to each resident. As a care assistant at our Extra Care Unit, you will support residents with varying needs to live as independently as possible, with personalized care and support plans in place.
Every client's needs are different. You may assist with housework, help with getting up in the morning, prepare a hot meal, provide companionship, assist with medication, or help with washing and dressing. More than tasks, our carers become friends, providing human company, encouragement, and sometimes a laugh, especially when life is challenging. Caring isn't always easy, but many people and their families will be grateful for your support.
Why Cera?
You are valued - Carers are the backbone of our mission to empower people to live longer, healthier, better lives at home. Our core values – Commit, Connect, and Create – guide all we do. We also have a monthly Cera Stars awards program to celebrate our employees' exceptional work.
We invest in your development - We support your growth through recognized qualifications and apprenticeships. There are opportunities for progression; in 2023, 45% of our salaried vacancies were filled through promoting existing care workers and branch staff via our career pathway.
Your well-being is a priority - You'll have access to WeCare, our employee benefits platform offering discounts and cashback from over 800 retailers. Additionally, we provide enhanced maternity, paternity, and adoption pay, an employee assistance program, healthcare cash plan, eyecare plan, and mental health support services.
We make your job easier - We've integrated technology to streamline administrative tasks, improve outcomes, and allow you to focus on what matters most: caring for our clients.
Key requirements for this role:
* A passion for helping others; previous caring experience is desirable but not essential.
* Flexibility to work various shifts, including alternate weekends.
* This role is subject to a DBS/PVG check.
Additional benefits:
* Opportunity for extra income via our referral scheme (up to £500 per referral).
* Overtime available to increase earnings.
* A comprehensive 3-day training program, followed by shadowing and peer support from a dedicated care mentor during the first 12 weeks. You may also receive specialized training for delegated healthcare tasks—an excellent chance to upskill.
* Uniform provided, along with a mobile phone and the Cera app to facilitate safe and efficient work.
* Blue Light Card eligibility—saving on everyday purchases and special treats, which can be combined with our We Care platform for double discounts.
