Then consider the position of Test Centre Associate at Reed in Partnership!
Our DVSA (Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency) programme provides secure assessment of prospective new drivers for the Department of Transport. Through more than 70 test centres, we provide 1.7 million + Driving Theory Tests a year across several regions of the UK.
Our delivery provides the infrastructure and processes required to test each candidate's driving theory knowledge and hazard perception. We ensure the integrity and compliance of each individual test in accordance with the assessment standards set by the DVSA.
What is the role about?
You will be responsible for the invigilation of exams and the efficient delivery of tests to candidates, ensuring that relevant procedures and guidelines are adhered to at all times. The Test Centre Associate will strictly adhere to the guidelines in accordance with the programme’s requirements and Reed in Partnership’s policies and procedures.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
1. Providing a high level of customer service
2. Checking candidates ID documents and booking them in on the system
3. Ensuring the integrity and security of tests are maintained
4. Supervision and invigilation of tests
5. Explaining the test process to candidates and supporting with other queries
6. Reviewing tests and test centre schedules
7. Performing daily test centre opening and closing procedures
8. Ensuring the test centre meets individual candidate needs in line with the Equality Act and our approach to diversity and inclusion
9. Handling and reporting incidents that could impact candidate testing
Your Work Schedule:
Our Test Centre Associate roles offer a flexible working pattern (either part-time or occasional shifts) with the potential for additional hours to suit you.
Shifts could range from:
1. Mornings - 8.30am to 1pm/2pm
2. Afternoons - 12.30pm/1pm to 5.30pm/6.30pm
3. Full day - 8.30am to 5.30pm/6.30pm
4. Evenings - 4.30pm/5pm to 8.30pm/9.30pm
5. Afternoon & Evenings – 12pm/1pm to 8.30pm/9.30pm
The Hull Test Centre usually opens 3 to 4 days per week, usually Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and some Saturdays, but this can vary with demand. The ideal candidate will be happy with intermittent shifts, between two and eight per month, and available across all operating days.

1. A full UK driving licence (although driving will not be required for all locations)
2. Significant demonstrable experience in providing high-quality customer service

4. The ability to work under pressure to short timescales and multi-tasking to complete a variety of competing activities
5. Experience in working with diverse customer groups
6. Excellent judgment and decision-making skills
7. Flexibility in working hours and days, including evenings and Saturday
8. The ability to remain calm and deal with confrontational candidates in a professional manner
