Job Opportunity
The Deputy Manager will be expected to demonstrate the HCL values every day in all areas of their role. You will be responsible for supporting the Registered Manager in the delivery of a high quality, safe service for all our service users through the management of the Branch service office.
Working with the Registered Managers, Service Co-ordinators, ECM team and Domiciliary care staff, you must ensure that all aspects of the branch care-delivery are met promptly, effectively, profitably and to a high standard. You will also be responsible for continuously improving the processes and standards we deliver, actively working with the HCL team and external bodies to provide a safe and efficient service at all times. You should remain up to date with current legislation and CQC guidelines relating to the delivery of care. Aiming to achieve ‘outstanding’ on CQC inspections, ensuring compliance in all areas.
You will be responsible for ensuring that the Health & Safety Policy is understood, and your responsibilities as outlined in the Policy are implemented and maintained so that we keep within the requirements of the Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974.
Direct reports for supervision –Registered Manager The role is office-based but will involve travel across the Starcare area to support the delivery of operational excellence.
Essential Skills
1. Qualified to a level 3 (or above) in health and social care
2. Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role
3. Experience of working with internal teams and external agencies to deliver solutions
4. Excellent planning and organisational skills.
5. A team player but also able to work on own initiative.
6. Able to make decisions and judgements based on factual evidence
7. Understanding of operational delivery of care within a home care sector, including assessment of standards, need for confidentiality and person-centred care
8. Able to manage a range of different activities and focuses, managing your time to meet deadlines
9. Self-motivated, flexible and willing to learn
10. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills both written and verbal
