The Role: Business Development Manager
Our client is looking for a driven and results-oriented Business Development Manager to spearhead their growth across key industries. This role is ideal for someone who has prior Business Development experience in the water industry and wants a new and exciting opportunity to showcase their skills.
As a key member of their team, you will play a pivotal role in expanding their client base, enhancing market presence, and contributing to the overall success of the business.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead Business Growth: Develop and implement strategic business development plans to drive revenue and expand the customer base.

Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key clients across sectors including civil engineering, construction, utilities, and water.

Identify Opportunities: Research market trends, identify potential customers, and generate leads to secure new business.
*
Sales & Negotiation: Prepare and deliver compelling proposals, negotiate contracts, and close deals to achieve sales targets.

Networking & Industry Engagement: Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions to increase brand visibility and generate new business.

Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including project management, operations, and marketing, to ensure seamless service delivery and customer satisfaction.

Market Intelligence: Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and market developments to refine sales strategies and maintain a competitive edge.

Reporting & Forecasting: Maintain accurate records of sales activities, track progress against targets, and provide regular performance reports to senior management.
About You:

Prior experience within the construction, civil engineering or utilities industries is desirable.
*
Prior experience within the water industry is a must.
*
Strong commercial awareness with the ability to identify and capitalize on business opportunities.

Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
*
Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently to meet and exceed targets.
*
Ability to build rapport and develop lasting relationships with clients and stakeholders.

Strong problem-solving skills with a strategic, solutions-focused approach.

A results-driven mindset with a track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.

Full UK driving license and willingness to travel as required.
