What do the team do?
The Business team provides a mix of accounting services, including bookkeeping, forecasting, year-end accounts preparations and tax returns. They have a relationship-centric approach and are trusted advisors to clients of all shapes and sizes, but they are typically owner-managed businesses, giving you the opportunity to deal directly with the decision makers and to truly help shape the direction of their firm.
You will be responsible for supporting the partner in the delivery of non-audit services to clients primarily in the healthcare sector and helping them to grow their offering in this space.
What will I be doing?
As an Accounts Senior / Assistant Manager you will have ownership of the following tasks:
* Completing moderate to large accounts preparation assignments, including the accompanying tax computations
* Preparing monthly management accounts and VAT returns where appropriate
* Clearing more complex queries directly with clients and suggesting sensible solutions
* Reviewing team members' work before passing to manager
* Coaching juniors and providing feedback on the quality of their work and performance
* Controlling assignment timeframes in line with pre-determined budget
What experience do I need?
While having the following experience is advantageous, we value passion and potential. If you meet the minimum criteria listed below and are eager to develop yourself, we would love to hear from you:
* A professional accounting qualification – ACA or ACCA (minimum criteria)
* Experience of working in an accountancy practice and preparing statutory accounts and tax computations for healthcare clients (minimum criteria)
* Up-to-date working knowledge of VAT
* Client-facing experience
* Experience of using Sage, Xero and Quickbooks Online
