Head of Site (FMCG - Manufacturing)
Alexander Steele is working with a leading FMCG manufacturing business to recruit a dynamic and experienced Head of Site to oversee a key production site. This critical role reports to the Regional Manufacturing Director and plays a central part in driving operational success and continuous improvement across the facility.
As the Head of Site, you will be responsible for managing site performance, fostering a culture of excellence, and leading a dedicated team to achieve key business objectives. This role requires a strong focus on safety, efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead day-to-day manufacturing operations, ensuring targets across Safety, HR, Environment, Quality, Production, Engineering, and Cost Control are met.
* Develop and implement strategies to drive performance improvements and operational excellence
* Allocate resources effectively and ensure smooth operational workflow.
* Champion a strong safety culture, ensuring all regulations and best practices are adhered to and continuously enhanced.
* Provide leadership and mentorship to teams, fostering a high-performance culture.
* Manage budgets, forecasts, and cost variances to optimize financial performance.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or a related Engineering discipline.
* NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical/Mechatronic Engineering (or equivalent qualification).
* Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a senior manufacturing leadership role (e.g., Operations Manager, Production Manager).
* Background in FMCG, packaging, or a high-volume manufacturing environment.
* Strong financial and business acumen, with experience in budgeting and cost control.
Required Experience:
* Exposure to Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
* Knowledge of food safety and quality management systems.
