As a HS&E Advisor, you will provide professional subject matter expertise on HSE issues to your assigned responsibilities to improve the HSE Management System and performance as well as demonstrate the HSE expectations in what you do. What you will be doing With this attractive opportunity you will get a chance to: Provide systems support to users across group Engineering, Technology & Safety (ET&S), ensuring key systems are always available and working, and maintain and improve systems and guides to make sure solutions are being achieved as efficiently as possible. Deputise for others as directed. Support sector and functional initiatives, including outside local area, as directed. Promote the importance of HSE and assist in raising the standards through local management and supporting cultural change. Engage with local stakeholders or resources to propose and establish a governance structure that is fit for purpose. Monitor the effectiveness of governance by the submission of progress, risk, actions, and other reports as. Identify issues and escalate where necessary. Provide SME support in the governance structure and act as the point of contact for HSE where necessary. Identify local compliance requirements and undertake a gap analysis on these and the sector wide requirements locally as directed. Support the development of improvement programmes, deliver the assigned aspects, and monitor progress. Interface with Regulators and identify future compliance requirements as. Utilise local knowledge to support development of credible local emergency planning scenarios and responses. Assist local business preparedness and deliver emergency response. Review effectiveness as needed and highlight areas of improvement and implement changes as instructed. To be successful in this role you will need: Demonstrated developing general HSE experience. Developing specialism in specific areas such as occupational hygiene, fire safety, process safety, construction, or environmental topics, together with the relevant qualifications. NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety, IOSH Managing Safely, IEMA Foundation Certificate in Environmental Management or equivalent introductory qualification.
