We are currently looking for a Principal Software / Controls Development Engineer, for our client, a producer of cutting-edge integrated electric motor and power electronics modules for the automotive, aerospace, industrial machinery, robotics, and green technology sectors. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of modular, scalable electric propulsion systems for a range of exciting, production-bound projects in automotive sports cars, heavy-duty vehicles, and marine applications.
The Principal Software / Controls Development Engineer will:
* Lead the development of embedded software and control systems for advanced electric propulsion technologies.
* Integrate AUTOSAR-based software into traction and propulsion inverter platforms.
* Design, simulate, and validate complex control strategies using MATLAB/Simulink.
* Oversee testing and validation using industry-standard tools (e.g., dyno testing).
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless system integration.
* Ensure compliance with industry functional safety standards (ISO26262).
The Principal Software / Controls Development Engineer will have:
* A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
* Extensive experience in embedded software development for control systems.
* Strong expertise in electric motor control, inverters, and real-time control systems.
* Experience with testing and validation tools (e.g., dyno testing).
* Familiarity with functional safety standards (ISO26262) is a plus.
