This post is only open to current University of Hull employees (those on continuing, fixed term or temporary contracts but does NOT include those on temporary staffing agreements (TSS)).
The University of Hull is operating in an increasingly complex, challenging and competitive environment.
We have therefore developed a renewed, ambitious and distinctive vision for the University - to shape a fairer, brighter, carbon-neutral future for all. That vision gives us a shared sense of purpose and direction and something we can all be proud to be a part of.
As part of this, we have committed to becoming the first University in the country to become Carbon Neutral in time for our centenary year.
Our values - inclusive, empowering, and progressive - reflect who we are and how we work to create a culture for success, as we continue to evolve to ensure that we adapt at pace to meet the needs of our students, collaborators, and partners.
The post of Facilities Supervisor is a critical role in the Infrastructure Services Directorate, providing a frontline customer-facing service across an estate consisting of buildings with an annual operational turnover of £m.
It is an exciting time for the team as we drive improvements in compliance, efficiency, customer service, and performance, as well as creating the opportunity to gain competitive advantages through our activity - underpinned by a significant investment in the Estate in conjunction with a full modernisation programme across the team's systems and processes.
Reporting to the Facility Manager, the Facilities Supervisor will be part of a team delivering basic service provision. The postholder will be familiar with and understand effective working procedures across a range of cleaning activities and administration duties.
Responsibilities:
1. Lead the team of Cleaning staff to ensure all University Buildings maintain the correct standards of cleanliness.
2. Support efficiency of service.
3. Ensure adherence to Health & Safety guidelines.
4. Audit the cleaning of University Buildings.
5. Produce/Provide documentary evidence relevant to the post.
Exemplary team working is critical to this role, as is the ability to communicate with a wide range of staff, students, and stakeholders. Working hours over a day working week. A flexible approach is required.
