The Atom Valley Mayoral Development Zone (MDZ) is one of six growth locations in Greater Manchester (GM) and includes significant parts of Bury, Oldham and Rochdale local authority areas. Unmatched in its size and scale in Greater Manchester, it will create 1.6 million square metres of employment land for industrial uses and 7,000 zero carbon homes across three development sites, creating 20,000 new good quality jobs. It offers the greatest opportunity to deliver transformational economic growth in the north and east of the GM conurbation and improve peoples lives.
The Rail Corridor Strategy is an ambitious programme of work along the Calder Valley Line, running through Rochdale. With five rail stations in the borough, Rochdales exceptional transport links present a major regeneration opportunity. Capacity for 7000 new homes has been identified and these will be developed in conjunction with a number of employment & leisure opportunities. Working closely with key stakeholders, around each station we want to invest in new housing, walking & cycling routes, park & ride facilities, and new public realm & community spaces.

We are seeking an exceptional strategic leader to guide and manage teams focused on project management and property management. As a key member of the RDA Senior Leadership Team, you will collaborate with other service areas, including Culture and Placemaking, to maximise investment opportunities and drive socio-economic prosperity. You will work closely with key stakeholders, such as the Greater Manchester Combined Authority, government bodies, and both public and private sector partners, to design and implement high-impact schemes. It is essential that you ensure RDAs regeneration and development priorities align with the strategic goals of Rochdale Council, improving connectivity, increasing residential and commercial floorspace and high quality development across the borough.
