Position: Project Manager
Location: Glasgow
Salary Guide: £60,000 - £68,000 (negotiable DOE) plus Excellent Benefits Package
Our client is a Tier 1 D&B Contractor operating predominately in the water industry, delivering a significant proportion of Scottish Water's SR21 programme of clean and wastewater non-infrastructure projects throughout Scotland.
They are recruiting for a Project Manager to lead an integrated design and build project team in the design, procurement, construction, and commissioning of a range of water and wastewater projects. You will ensure that your assigned projects are completed in the most efficient manner to the specification, within the time required, and within the tender estimate without risk to the health and safety of all concerned while ensuring good customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Promote exceptional safety and delivery quality standards to direct and subcontracted workforce.
2. Ensure that the BMS is implemented at all stages throughout the project delivery process, i.e., from tender handover to final completion.
3. Review the effectiveness of the BMS at the project level as a means of achieving quality, safety, and environmental objectives.
4. Ensure, in conjunction with the Design Manager, that an adequate Technical, Safety, and Environmental review is carried out for each project to ensure successful delivery.
5. Ensure that sufficient trained personnel are available for the project and that they are aware of their individual responsibilities.
6. Prepare, in place, and approve appropriately detailed construction plans and method statements prior to commencement of activities.
7. Produce works procedures to assist with control quality where applicable.
8. Report all site non-conformities and identify approximate costs.
9. Manage all commercial aspects of the project in a timely and proactive way, giving accurate forecasts and estimates.
10. Understand and implement the Quality, Safety, and Environmental Policies and Targets.
11. Maintain an appropriate practical knowledge and appreciation of all technical disciplines associated with delivering water and wastewater design and build projects.
12. Have a working knowledge and experience of project management practices from scheme conception through to end user acceptance.
13. Maintain a positive and solution-oriented approach to work, providing open and honest feedback.
Skills, Qualifications & Experience:
1. Previous Project Management experience.
2. Working knowledge of CDM and construction Health & Safety.
3. Minimum HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in a construction or engineering-related discipline.
4. Experience in a multidisciplinary engineering environment in the water industry.
5. Excellent oral and written communicator with the ability to work in close partnership with clients and end users.
6. Must be delivery-driven with the ability to set targets and manage and motivate multi-disciplinary teams to deliver to time, cost, and quality objectives.
7. Extensive experience in medium to large scale project delivery.
8. Tactical, operational, technical, and management skills.
Desirable:
1. Experience of WTWs & STWs.
2. Experience in using Primavera or planning software.
3. Chartered or near chartered in a construction discipline.
4. Knowledge and experience of Off-Site construction techniques.
