We are seeking a Senior Completion Engineer for our client who is one of the largest international oil and gas operators.
The position’s key objectives will include the development of designs, plans and execution of completion, well testing, stimulation, work-over and intervention well operations. The role will also encompass support for decommissioning and P&A activities as and when these arise.
RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES
Health, Safety and Environmental
1. Ensure operational risks are assessed and reduced to as low as reasonably practicable.
2. Ensure the well’s pressure, temperature and fluid properties are appraised and that all equipment is designed to operate within its intended environment.
3. Ensure designs and operations comply with company standards and policies and relevant legislative requirements.
4. Ensure all safety critical equipment meets design standards and is verified by an independent inspection body.
5. Ensure operational risks are assessed and reduced to as low as reasonably practicable.
Technical and Commercial
Design Phase
1. Review & understand Subsurface Well Data Pack.
2. Assisting in the following:
1. Development of Completion, Testing, Stimulation and Intervention design philosophies.
2. Development of Completion design.
3. Design and operability risk assessments.
4. Peer Review and Peer Assist exercises.
5. Preparation of time estimates.
6. Development of associated permits and consents.
Costing, Contracts and Procurement
1. Participation in tender evaluation.
2. Development of well service contracts.
3. Participation in cost tracking and invoice verification.
Detailed Programming
1. Preparing detailed programmes and contingencies.
2. Liaising with respective service company personnel.
3. Supporting Peer Review and Peer Assist exercises.
Operations
1. Onshore support and supervision during Completion and Testing phases of the well.
Production
1. Well service support for producing assets.
2. Oversee and manage well integrity during the production phase.
Data capture and lessons learned
1. Compiling Completions and Well Services End of Well Reports.
2. Capturing lessons learned and incorporating them in subsequent designs and operations.
3. Recording and closing out NPT occurrences.
4. Compiling well costs.
Management of Service providers
1. Maintaining sight of new technologies and where applicable, introducing these into completion designs and operations.
2. Management of KPI’s through regular performance reviews.
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
Education & Experience
1. 15+ years’ experience in design, planning and execution of Completion, Testing, Stimulation and Intervention operations both on and offshore.
2. Knowledge of the principles of well design.
3. Detailed knowledge of Completions, Perforating, Stimulation, Well Testing, Drill Stem Testing, Work-overs and Intervention techniques.
4. Degree level engineering qualification preferred.
5. IWCF – Supervisor Level.
