Job summary An exciting employment opportunity has arisen as part of a strategic transformation in cancer services. The assessment sister/charge nurse will work in the Weston Park Cancer Centre assessment service, including telephone triage and advice and directly admit patients to Weston Park. They will provide support to the phone triage nurses on a day to day basis and manage complex calls. Main duties of the job The assessment sister/charge nurse will undertake clinical assessments for cancer patients who attend Weston Park as non-elective admissions, order and carry out investigations and initiate treatments within defined competence and protocols in collaboration with the senior clinicians and multi-professional team. They will provide site management, leadership and clinical support to the nursing team within Weston Park at night in conjunction with the hospital at night team and duty matron.
