Architecture Initiative is looking for a technical architect to join its team in London.
Architecture Initiative is a progressive and passionate London-based design-led practice. We are currently expanding our team to help us service a series of existing and new commissions and are seeking to appoint a confident and talented Part 3 project architect with demonstrable technical delivery experience to join our dynamic team in central London. The initial work relates to a high-quality mixed-use development on the River Thames, work stages 3 to 6, and two other education projects from Stage 3 to completion.
Whilst technical ability is a prerequisite, you should be a team player and be flexible enough to work through all RIBA stages from concept design and planning through to detailed design and construction. We operate as an integrated single studio, so anyone who joins the practice can make a big impact.
Architecture Initiative is a multi-award-winning, design-focused architectural practice, working across a broad range of residential, education, and mixed-use projects both in London and the rest of the UK. At Architecture Initiative, we believe that architecture shouldn’t just be about buildings – it’s about place and cultivating a sense of belonging. We pride ourselves on thinking differently and leading by example. Our expertise lies in responding to our clients’ needs with inspiring, considered, and collaborative schemes. We aren’t afraid of questioning conformity when it leads to positive change.
You will work closely with our directors, taking ownership of projects with guidance and team support. You will be expected to lead projects, including discussions with clients, consultants, planners, and subcontractors, as well as coordinating the input of other members of the AI team to produce the highest quality design information and documentation. It goes without saying that you will possess charisma and confidence, an inquisitive mind, and have a real passion for architecture and design.
You will need to have the skills and knowledge to enable you to support projects efficiently and professionally within tight programme constraints.
Other requirements:
* Well-developed technical/co-ordination and delivery skills
* Excellent communication skills – this is a key requirement
* Ability to work well under pressure, prioritise duties and work effectively to meet deadlines
* Self-motivated, confident, and able to handle multiple roles and responsibilities
* Good working knowledge of technical standards and UK building regulations
* Ability to organise workload and prioritise tasks
* Proactive and positive attitude, enthusiastic to grow and learn
* High Revit proficiency
* Broad sector experience ideally in education, residential, commercial, and mixed-use
* Ideally a working knowledge of Enscape or similar presentation tools and using Vu-City software
This role is full time and studio-based with some opportunity for flexible working. Salary negotiable.
