As the Mechanical Technician, will join an established Mechanical Team within our top tier COMAH site and be responsible for the delivery of preventative/proactive maintenance of Mechanical systems and its sub or support systems, attending to any reactive/corrective maintenance that arises, fault finding, completing any repairs/replacements/calibration or set-up, installation of new systems/equipment, commissioning alongside operations on returning to service.
This role requires an experienced, industrial, Mechanically biased, maintenance technician who is able to demonstrate and execute a wide range of practical Mechanical skills, ranging from basic workshop skills including fabrication of pipework, steelwork, and plastics to working out on plant in a methodical & logical manner such that reactive faults can be identified and repaired safely, alongside working proactively by working on Planned maintenance & Routines scheduled by our Maintenance planner.
This role will operate on a 5 On/4 Off rotation, inclusive of Day and Nightshift patterns.

Your responsibilities:
1. Safety should always be the highest priority for any tasks undertaken, in conjunction with our life saving policies and procedures.
2. Knowledge and experience of site services, Gas, Compressed air, Steam, cooling water and how to deenergise and work on safely.
3. Knowledge and use of technical drawings & operator manuals alongside Mechanical exploded view/cross sectional drawings & P&ID’s to aid fault diagnosis process.
4. Reduce Plant downtime by proposing/implementing improvements.
5. Contribute to improving the site performance in all aspects of safe operation, regulatory compliance, productive output, and cost efficiency by improving the engineering reliability of site equipment and ensuring appropriate maintenance frequency of assets is complied with.
6. Keep accurate written records of work conducted using SAP CMMS system.
7. Work alongside compliance & technical author to support the technical review of written maintenance documents and operational procedures.
8. Conducting Inspections, testing, calibration, adjustments and monitoring tasks as required to maintain efficient plant and build-in equipment reliability.
Requirements for the role:
9. An industrial Mechanical -based qualification to HNC/ONC level or equivalent.
10. Previous Manufacturing/Chemical industry experience.
11. Experience of structured problem-solving techniques, fault diagnosis.
12. Ability to read and comprehend Mechanical Schematics & OEM Manuals, P&ID’s .
13. Experience in maintaining rotating equipment. (Desirable)
14. Experience of working with Glass lined reactors & chemical tanks & vessels, and their sub systems. (Desirable)
15. Experience in site services, cooling water, natural gas, compressed air, steam. (Desirable)
